Born in 1928 in Warsaw. One of the most outstanding Polish photographers. Specialised mainly in portrait and theatre photography. Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology. A long-time co-worker of the Krakow magazine “Przekrój”, in which he published many photo essays, fashion photos and, above all, he is the author of more than 500 covers. He has been involved in theatre photography since 1959. He has worked with various theatres documenting performances and portraying their creators. His longest association was with the Old Theatre in Krakow. He has published several albums. A winner of many awards. He took part in numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including the famous ones – “Subjective Photography” from 1968 and “Searching Photographers” from 1971. In the 1970s he headed the Krakow Branch of the ZPAF and was also a member of the ZPAF Artistic Council in Warsaw. He was awarded the FIAP Excellence title. Plewinski’s works can be found in numerous public and private collections.
