Our behavior is divided between that which we exhibit publicly and that which remains hidden. Values are guidelines which support the selection of those most visible behaviors, the product of a social consensus representing a particular time. The subject of this exhibition is that which is behind the curtain. Apollo stands at the gate of the prescribed, Dionysus embodies the proscribed. To be human is to have values, but those values are mutable. When we attach to a set of values as if they were timeless we lose our freedom.
