During the premiere a conversation with Andrzej Tobis and Dorota Masłowska – the author of A Polish Dixit included in the book – will be hosted by Bogna Świątkowska from Bęc Zmiana.
The Movement of Poland around the Sun presents 200 photographs from the artist’s ongoing project titled ‘A–Z (Educational Cabinets)’. The photographs are paired in a way that one of each is always from 2021 and the other from earlier years. On occasions, former works become more like snapshots or the line ‘previously on…’ preceding every new episode from any series. This trilingual (Polish-German-English) publication also includes the artist’s commentary and an essay A Polish Dixit written by a contemporary Polish writer, Dorota Masłowska. The publication of the book accompanies Andrzej Tobis’ exhibition that was held in the Contemporary Art Gallery in Opole from the 2nd of December 2022 until the 29th of January 2023.
The book was published in partnership with Jednostka Gallery. A collector’s edition of the book will be presented during the event.
