It is time for the second guided tour of the exhibition “Personal Portrait, or a Close Encounter with. . . vol. 4”. What is the process and what is the perspective on portrait behind the series of photographs taken by Zuza Krajewska as part of the project? This is what the photographer herself will talk about during her tour of our exhibition.
ZUZA KRAJEWSKA
One of the most recognizable photographers, functioning in the world of fashion, advertising and art. Currently, he is also a new face in the area of directing, where he uses his workshop and excellent storytelling skills to create advertising spots that engage the viewer while presenting the product in a modern and attractive way. Krajewska is the creator of the photos for Anja Rubik’s bestselling educational project “SexedPL” and the author of the book “It Should Be OK”, published as part of the Wrzesińska Collection (2018 edition), which she dedicated “to those who are tired of dividing Poland into two contrasting colours”.
PERSONAL PORTRAIT VOL. 4
This is the fourth edition of the project, in which artists present different strategies of approaching the art of portrait. The project combines activities at the intersection of the art of photography and theatre, referring to the idea of the monodrama, as an intimate meeting between the artist and the audience, and at the same time a classical form of creating a photographic portrait, resulting from a meeting between the photographer and the photographed person. Each time it is a close-up aimed at stopping the image of the other person, removing the mask, capturing the moment, stopping time. The question of to what extent it is a portrait of the photographed person, and to what extent it is a portrait of the portraitist, still remains valid.
