Maciej Pisuk (b. 1965) – Polish writer, screenwriter and photographer. Author of the screenplay for Leszek Dawid’s film “You are God”, previously published as a book by Wydawnictwo Krytyka Polityczna. He lives in Warsaw. A graduate in screenwriting from the National Film School in Łódź (PWSFTviT), he wrote the TV play “Stars and the Fate of Man” and wrote a script about Jacek Kuroń. He published his texts in “brulion” and in the anthology “You Have Your Own Poets”. “Under the Skin” began shortly after Pisuk moved to the Praga district in the right bank of the Vistula River in Warsaw and began to produce a photographic record of the district’s ‘social landscape’. With time, he was getting to know Praga better and better, getting closer to its residents and venturing into places other photographers did not dare to explore. The series has been widely published and exhibited. “Under the Skin” is an open project the artist is still working on. Based on the material he has produced, the artist intends to publish two books, in collaboration with Anna Nałęcka-Milach, one of the most distinguished book designers in the world. One of the publications will be a photo book, while the other a literary book in which Pisuk will present the stories of his characters.
